The Family Owl Experience is the perfect way to spend a day out with amazing wildlife, for you and the whole family to enjoy. Build lasting memories in this unique owl handling experience, where you will get to learn about, fly and handle up to four owls in a private session. See species ranging from the Southern White Faced Owl, the Boobook Owl and the Verreuax’s Eagle Owl in this memorable experience for four.
What do I need to know?
- All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
- Available Monday-Friday, year round
- You will be able to handle the owls with gloves, but out of respect for the birds health please do not stroke the birds
- Minimum age: 13 years old
- If the forecast is bad, you will be contacted 24-hours prior to reschedule your booking
- In the wetter months, boots or wellies are advised
- The flying area is on grass but amendments can be made for disability requirements
- All dates are subject to availability

Birds of prey. What an experience
Had a fantastic bird of prey experience for me and my son at groombridge place. We had more handling and interacting with these great birds than i expected which was brilliant. Liam who took the experience was so good. He was very knowledgable and interesting. We learnt alot from him. A wonderful experience that me and my son always wanted to do and really enjoyed the afternoon. Thoroughly recommend it for bird lovers or even anyone.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location is really nice, the handler, Liam, was very knowledgeable about his "babies" and showed us how to convince an owl who doesn't want to fly (having a long chat with them and patience)
We handled four different owls, they ranged between 300gr for an Australian Boobook (even if he was born in the UK), a little heavier Barn Owl at around 600gr, a Great Grey Owl at 999gr and last but not least at 1kg+ an Eurasian eagle-owl .
Liam had us all involved in the flights and the owls told us when to put our hand up so they could come and get their treats.
We are already planning our next visit ??
Thank you Liam, we hope you had a good lunch afterwards.

We visited the Owl and Raptor Centre on Sunday and had a wonderful experience. Grace and Liam were friendly, knowledgeable and caring with the owls. I would recommend this experience.
