Great pleasure to find that cheese scones are part of this tasty treat . I always feel disappointed when fruit scones are the only offering , as I can’t abide them! So always feel like I’m missing out, not at The Mill, they give you fruit and cheese ?? yippee !! And warm homemade little delights they were too . Well done , service was polite and speedy and we were checked upon several times to see that we had all we wanted. Sandwich selection was delicious and enhanced with salad leaves and a warm savoury sausage roll, always a winner . Cakes were atop the stand and although they did not appear very exciting each one was a little delight. Again garnished nicely with fresh soft fruits. As I don’t drink tea or coffee I was offered a soft drink replacement which was refilled so that made this a place to return to again . Easy parking, pleasant decor, steady flow of customers creating a pleasant atmosphere.

We were gifted the bottomless Gin/Fizz afternoon tea at the Mill, we live 30 mins away - so decided to grab the train so we could both enjoy the hospitality. The Food was plentiful and fresh, the staff were super attentive, and the selection of gin included flavoured, which was a nice surprise. We are not massive "drinkers" but the staff refilled each time our glass was empty, and even offered us a hot drink for the train ride home, which was a lovely touch on their part. The train is literally 1 min walk away - so it was ideal, and the venue was clean and spacious, we didn't feel we were on top of teh other afternoon tea-ers. I am already planning booking to take my mum, what a gem of a place - Thanks :)

The Grange didn’t serve traditional afternoon tea but an evening tea comprising mini cottage pie, fish n chip basket, ham toastie and mini burger. Sweet course was mini lemon tartlet, toffee trifle and chocolate and vanilla mousse. It was delicious! Everything was home cooked and made such a change from sandwiches and cake. The hotel itself is rather tired and dated but putting that aside I can’t fault the food or service.

What a delightful find . Mr Coghlan himself served the most delicious afternoon tea with too many delights to mention in the loveliest of surroundings ...perfect wedding anniversary gift .
