Microlight Flying in Hampshire

Fly like a bird with this microlight flying experience for one in Hampshire. You’ll feel a sense of exhilaration and freedom as you soar through the skies in this lightweight aircraft. Starting with a health and safety briefing from an experienced pilot, you’ll get in the cockpit of a dual-controlled flex-wing microlight based on the frame of a hang glider. At first your instructor will take the controls, giving you a chance to admire the stunning bird’s-eye views and then you’ll have a chance to take control of the microlight yourself, tutored and guided by your instructor. The lightweight aircraft handles like a dream, zipping through the skies at speed for an unforgettable flying experience. Plus, your flying time can count towards a microlight Private Pilot’s Licence!

What do I need to know?

• All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
• Your voucher is valid for one person
• Available Tuesday–Sunday in the afternoons (usually between 12–3pm) throughout the main flying season from March to November. Weeknight flights can take off up to 7.30pm in summer
• Please allow up to an hour at the venue – flights can last anywhere between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on thermals and wind
• Weather dependency means you can be cancelled at very short notice so you MUST call for confirmation between 9–10am on the morning of the flight. Any cancellations are rebooked
• The briefing might be shared, but the flight is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified pilot
• Spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land and follow your flight with binoculars or a camera, or relax in the café or viewing area
• Minimum age: 16 years
• Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will be required to sign a disclaimer
• Maximum weight is 16st 7lb
• Dogs are not permitted at airfields
• These microlights have open cockpits so it is recommended that you wrap up warm and wear long trousers, closed-in shoes, socks, long-sleeved jumpers and sunglasses. Bring gloves in winter and sunblock and a hat in summer
• Flying time can count towards a microlight Private Pilot’s Licence
