Begin with a fascinating introduction to beekeeping and learn lots of interesting facts. Put on protective suits and join an expert beekeeper as they inspect the hive. Get actively involved as you learn to handle the frames and check the health of the colony. It will then be time to take a seat inside for a chance to sample some refreshing Hiver Beers. Discover why these tasty honey-fuelled beverages are so popular as you enjoy a tutored tasting session. Be shown by a knowledgeable expert how to match beer with food. What do I need to know?
- All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
- Your voucher is valid for two people
- This experience is available most weekends from mid-April until mid-September
- Expect the experience to last for two hours
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Beer contains gluten so the tasting is not suitable for those who suffer with coeliac disease and there is a small risk of getting stung during the hive inspection, but whilst this is very rare, we do not recommend the experience for individuals who are allergic to bees
- The venue will provide a beekeeping suit (including face protection) along with gloves on the day, but please wear sensible flat shoes and bring socks – feet should be fully covered
- In the case of really wet or cold weather, you'll focus on inspecting the exhibition hive, working with the beekeeping tools to build frames and working with the biproducts of the hive
- You'll join a group of up to 12 people
