At The Quiet Site, a carbon neutral and sustainable site that sits in the Ullswater fells, you’ll spend two nights in a Gingerbread House, which features a private shower, toilet, basic kitchen, and a covered deck with a picnic table where you can eat outside and soak in the stunning views. With solar panels on the roof, ground source heating, and triple insulation, this cabin creates more energy than it uses, making it carbon positive. On site you can grab something to eat at The Quiet Bite and stock up on the basics at the zero waste shop, or head to the park’s very own The Quiet Bar, which was built in 1680 and is now a welcoming and unique bar with a roaring log fire. In the heart of the Lake District National Park, there’s plenty to see and do in the local area from picturesque walks to outdoor adventures, making it a wonderful countryside escape.
