Nürburgring
Nürburg
Germany
Dubbed 'The Green Hell' by Sir Jackie Stewart, The combined Nurburgring is just over 16 miles long with 170 corners. Supercar and hot hatch manufacturers use it as a proving ground to show off their record-breaking vehicles.
While it is unusual for fatalities to happen during official races, there are many accidents and multiple deaths each year during public sessions.
It is not uncommon for the track to be closed a few times a day for cleanups, repairs and medical intervention on the stricken customers.
